Foot Problems

Some people with MS experience problems with their feet. There can be various reasons for this and it can range from minor discomfort to more debilitating, walking problems. There is a lot you can do to look after your own feet and advice is on hand from Podiatrists.

Moray NHS Podiatry Service is based at
The Glassgreen Centre
2 Thornhill Drive
Elgin, IV30 6GQ

Tel. 01343 553077
Anyone in Moray, with a foot problem, can access this service. Self referral forms are available or you can ask your GP or the MS Nurse for a referral. Podiatrists treat a wide range of foot conditions such as ingrowing toenails, foot deformities, walking or gait abnormalities, painful corns and callus.

The service is provided at clinics within Health Centres but home visits are available (on a limited basis) to those who have very limited mobility.

Eligibility for NHS Podiatry, is determined by the Podiatrist for anyone who has a "foot health need".
If you have a "Personal Footcare" need, as defined by something called the "National Self Care Agenda", the Podiatry service is happy to offer advice on footwear and on how best to care for your feet. This is available to patients, family or carers and can be on a one to one basis, or as part of a group.
