Season's Greetings!

posted 21 Dec 2012, 04:36 by Alan B.
I'm writing this on the day of the Winter Solstice - when we can enjoy the turn of the year and look forward to the return of the light. I wish all readers of this website a happy time and offer good wishes for 2013. In the coming year I'll continue to develop and add to the site and hope that you all continue to find it useful.

There has been some good news about the Government's welfare reforms. The introduction of Personal Independence Payments (PIP) to replace Disability Living Allowance won't happen as speedily as first planned and it looks as if the needs of MSers, many of whom have such varying symptoms and needs, will be taken into account. I'll keep you posted so keep checking the site for updates.

The NHS locally have also given us some good news by stating that funding for the full-time MS Specialist Nurse should continue. This is very welcome.

2013 will almost certainly bring more news of drug treatments, especially for Relapse/Remitting MS (RRMS). Whether new treatments are effective and available remains to be seen but it does seem like an exciting time in MS Research.

That's it for 2012. All the best to you all!
