The Moray MS Support Group met on January 13th 2012 and had two interesting inputs:

Group member Alex Leggat showed off his Christmas present - Voice Recognition Software - which allows hands free computer use, ideal for those with dexterity problems. With a bit a training this software works a treat and Alex showed us how. The package is called Dragon Naturally Speaking and if you want to know more look at the website HERE The software costs between £60 and £80 but it as suggested that, if enough people were interested locally, we might be able to negotiate a bulk purchase discount. Contact alanbeevers@gmail.com if you are interested. The MS Society may also be able to help with a grant.

The second speaker was Keith Park from the MS Society. Keith is manager of the Stuart Resource Centre in Aberdeen who are currently carrying out a major consultation exercise asking MSers what help and services should be provided by the Society to best meet our needs. A questionnaire is currently circulating and if you haven't yet completed it you can do so online HERE. You can also get a paper copy from the MS Society Regional Development Officer, Paula MacGillivray. You can find her details HERE If you want to find out more about Keith's work you can contact him at The Stuart Resource Centre 01224 692777 or kpark@mssociety.org.uk

The next meeting of the Moray MS Support Group will be on Friday 10th February at 11.am at the Oaks in Elgin. More information HERE
