EXERCISE AND LONG TERM CONDITIONS NHS Grampian and Moray Council are currently working in partnership to investigate the potential of training people within the local community to an appropriate qualification level to enable them to deliver physical activity sessions within the community to people that have long term medical conditions. The conditions may include stroke, COPD, Diabetes, Asthma, M.S., Parkinson's plus others. These sessions would provide regular physical activity to people to help manage and control their condition and help them to lead as independent a life as possible. We are looking for people that may have some sort of gym instructors or fitness qualification or alternatively a Level 2 REPS qualification. We would hope to deliver a Level 3 GP Exercise Referral course on in the Moray area in the very near future if we can identify suitable candidates. Funding support may be available for people that meet the criteria for this development.
