Thanks to Neil from the Moray MS Support Group I've found out that the Scottish Medicines Consortium (the Scottish equivalent of NICE) has approved the drug Fingolimod for use by MSers. Also known as Gilenya, this drug has been shown to be of help to some people with relapse/remitting MS but was previously thought to be "not cost-effective" by the SMC. So this change of heart is good news. The drug won't be suitable for everyone so talk to your GP, Neurologist or the MS Specialist Nurse to discuss your situation.
